The Kingston Kids' Triathlon is sanctioned by the Ontario Association of Triathletes (OAT). This event is designed to offer young people between the ages of 5 and 11 (age on December 31, 2009) the opportunity to complete a triathlon. The distances are age-appropriate, challenging, yet short enough for most participants to finish. The emphasis is on fun and safety.
All participants must be OAT (or other affiliated provincial governing body or national Inter Triathlon Union (ITU) organization) members. A one-day membership covering your race day insurance is required. For safety reasons, the number of participants will be limited. This race typically reaches capacity prior to mid-June, so please register early to avoid disappointment.
Children must self propel on the swim. (Submidgets may enlist nominal help). Flotation aids (life jackets, water wings, flutter boards) are allowed.
Parents are not allowed in transition area or in the pool. Race officials will help children with helmet chinstraps, etc. if needed.
